Wawa Motor Inn - Request to permit SEASONAL R.V. CAMPGROUND

TAKE NOTICE that Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa has received an application to amend Zoning By-Law No. 2821-15. The application affects land described as 118 Mission Road, MC SSM 10524 PT RP AR49, Part 1 PCL 7591 AWS, Part 1 PCL 4633 AWS located in the Municipality of Wawa in the District of Algoma (See Map).

PURSUANT to Section 34 of the Planning Act, the application file is available for viewing at the Wawa Municipal Office by contacting the Clerk at 705-856-2244 ex. 222.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of Wawa will be holding a public meeting under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter 13 as amended, to inform the public of the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment and to provide opportunity for the public to provide comments in support or opposition to the rezoning application.

DETAILS OF THE ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

The effect of the Zoning By-Law amendment would be to permit an exception to the Urban Highway Commercial (C2) designation on the property to add “Seasonal RV Campground Park” as a permitted use. The Owner proposed to develop up to 12 Recreational Vehicle (RV) sites on the Wawa Motor Inn property immediately south of the south entrance.  Each of the sites would be provided with piped water and electrical services.  The RV sites would be available on a daily rental basis and six sites will be parallel to Mission Road on one side of an internal driveway and five more sites on the west side of the driveway. A key map depicting the land to which the proposed amendment applies follows this Notice.

SENDING COMMENTS AND ATTENDING THE PUBLIC MEETING

Registration is required to make comment during the public meeting due to the provincial shut-down and fact that the meeting is being held electronically using ZOOM.

Comments or questions about this application are to be submitted in writing to the Clerk via email at ccyr@wawa.cc or sent by regular mail until June 7, 2021.

Written submissions will be provided to Council at the Public Meeting. If you are unable to make a written submission and/or would like to make an oral statement during the Public Meeting, please email the Clerk who will provide you with a telephone number or Zoom link to participate in the meeting.

ANY PERSON wishing to be notified of the decision of Council for The Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa in respect to the proposed Temporary Zoning By-Law Amendment must make a written request to the Clerk by email at ccyr@wawa.cc or by mail sent to Cathy Cyr, Clerk, Municipality of Wawa, Box 500, Wawa, ON P0S 1K0.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council before the proposed By-Law is approved, the person or body is not entitled to appeal the decision to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT).

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council before the proposed By-law is approved, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
