Municipal LogoMunicipality of Wawa Invites Applications to Participate on the Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee

The Municipality of Wawa invites applications for action-oriented, community volunteers to participate in the newly formed Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee (EDTAC) of Council. The EDTAC Committee will provide advice and recommend strategic direction to Council on policies, procedures and sustainable activities to grow economic, business and tourism opportunities in Wawa and Area. Up to seven (7) appointments will be selected by Council running until December 2022. The term may be extended by the new Municipal Council elected in November.

Applicants should have the following desired qualifications to participate;

  • Be 18 years of age or older,
  • Be a proven and successful leader of a business or tourism enterprise,
  • Be knowledgeable and experienced with working well with a diverse team,
  • Be committed to constructive dialogue, respectful of other’s opinions and confidentiality, and
  • Be knowledgeable and experienced with tourism development and business retention and attraction strategies. A background in marketing, public relations and planning would be an asset.
