Election Day – Monday, October 26, 2026

The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election has now closed and the official list of certified and acclaimed candidates is available below under the "Official List of Certified and Acclaimed Candidates" drop down menu.

On Monday, October 26, 2026, Wawa voters will elect:

  • One (1) Mayor
  • Four (4) Councillors

School Board Trustees – Acclaimed

The School Board Trustee positions representing Wawa have been elected by acclamation. As a result, voters will not be required to vote for School Board Trustee positions in the 2026 Municipal Election.

The acclaimed School Board Trustees are:

  • English Language Public: Susan JOHNSON
  • English Language Separate: Carol MACEACHERN 
  • French Language Public: Leo RAYMOND
  • French Language Separate: Luc TESSIER

What is the Voting Period? 

Voting Period: October 19–26, 2026
Election Day: Monday, October 26, 2026

Wawa voters can cast their ballot at any time during the voting period, beginning October 19, 2026, and continuing through Election Day on October 26, 2026. Voters do not need to wait until Election Day to vote. Additional information about how and where to vote, including Voter Station locations, dates and hours, will be provided below.

Voting in the 2026 Municipal Election will be conducted exclusively by telephone and internet voting. There will be no traditional paper ballots.

Eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter in the mail before voting begins. This letter will contain a unique voting code (PIN) along with step-by-step instructions explaining how to cast a ballot securely online or by telephone.

Voters can choose whichever voting method is most convenient and can vote from anywhere with access to a telephone, computer, tablet or smartphone.

For voters who require assistance or access to a telephone or internet-enabled device, Voter Assistance Stations will be available. Details regarding locations, dates and hours will be provided below.
