PUBLIC NOTICE: WATER SERVICE DISRUPTION

AREA AFFECTED: Regina Crescent, Poplar, Birch and Superior Streets

EFFECTIVE: Immediately - Wednesday, August 19, 2026

Residents of Affected Area - Regina Crescent, Poplar, Birch and Superior Streets

Please be advised that municipal employees are currently performing an emergency repair on a broken water main pipe located at the Poplar Street and Regina Avenue intersection. The emergency repairs are being performed as quickly as possible, however, at this time it is unknown when the water service may be in working order again. Please avoid driving in this area.

Any resident affected may use the Michipicoten Community Centre (MMCC) during this water service disruption to fill water containers or use the public washrooms. The MMCC will remain open this evening and until the water service is restored.

It is unknown when the repairs will be completed but please keep in mind that when the water is back on, please run your taps for five minutes and boil all water to be used for drinking or cooking. A further notice will be provided detailing instructions will be issued.
