Proclamation - Wawa's Imagination Library Day

WHEREAS early childhood literacy is a vital foundation for the lifelong learning, growth, and future success of our youth; and

WHEREAS the Wawa chapter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library has successfully delivered nearly 10,800 books to over 150 children in our community since its launch in 2019; and

WHEREAS this grassroots program proudly sponsored by The Rotary Club of Wawa and operates at absolutely zero cost to local taxpayers, utilizing a streamlined model with no physical buildings and no paid staff, ensuring all support and donations goes directly towards the program; and

WHEREAS September 25, 2026, is recognized globally to honour early literacy efforts and the profound legacy of gifting books to Children;

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa does hereby proclaim September 25, 2026, as Wawa’s Imagination Library Day and encourage all residents to celebrate early literacy efforts and support our local chapter and ensure every child has a chance to discover the joy of reading.
