Notice of Statutory Public Meeting - Proposed Housing Community Improvement Plan - 39 Algoma Street
TUESDAY, JULY 14, 2026 6:30 P.M. COUNCIL CHAMBERS
TAKE NOTICE that, in accordance with Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, the Municipality of Wawa will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 40 Broadway Avenue, Wawa, ON, to consider the adoption of a Housing Community Improvement Plan affecting 39 Algoma Street (site-specific).
THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed Housing Community Improvement Plan is to encourage and promote private sector investment in housing development on the subject property. The proposed Housing Community Improvement Plan includes two financial incentive programs designed to support new housing construction at 39 Algoma Street.
THE SUBJECT LAND included in the Plan is 39 Algoma Street, PLAN M131 LOT 1002PT PCL 3 MICH RP 1R6820 PT 2 in the Municipality of Wawa.

ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Housing Community Improvement Plan. Written submissions must be sent to Maury O’Neill, CAO-Clerk, by email to moneill@wawa.cc or mail to Clerk, 40 Broadway Avenue, Box 500, Wawa, P0S 1K0, and received by 4:30 p.m. on July 13, 2026. Comments provided will form part of the public record.
ANY PERSON who wishes to make a representation at the Public Meeting using ZOOM must contact the Clerk to receive a link to the meeting prior to Noon on July 14, 2026.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submission to the Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa before the proposed Community Improvement Project Area, Community Improvement Plan is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa before the proposed Community Improvement Plan are adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. Only the Applicant, the Minister, a registered owner of affected lands, a specified person, or a public body who made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to Council before the by-law was passed may appeal the decision of Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal pursuant to the Planning Act.
IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa on the proposed Community Improvement Plan, you must make a written request to the Clerk by email at moneill@wawa.cc or by mail sent to Clerk, Municipality of Wawa, 40 Broadway Avenue, Box 500, Wawa, ON P0S 1K0, on or before July 14, 2026.
