Notice: Dog Safety and Responsibility

The Municipality of Wawa is reminding residents of the importance of responsible dog ownership following recent concerns regarding dogs running at large and reports of dog-related incidents within the community.

Dog owners are encouraged to ensure their pets are properly supervised, securely contained on private property, and leashed when off their property.

Responsible pet ownership helps:

• Prevent injuries to people and other animals

• Reduce conflicts between pets

• Protect pets from traffic and other hazards

• Maintain a safe and enjoyable community for everyone

Residents are reminded to regularly inspect fences, gates, and other containment systems to ensure pets cannot leave their property unattended.

The Municipality appreciates the cooperation of all pet owners in helping maintain a safe and respectful environment for residents, visitors, and pets alike.
