BOIL WATER ADVISORY
Effective Immediately Issued Wednesday, August 19, 2026

A Boil Water Advisory is being issued for the Municipality of Wawa, along the following roads in the community;
- Superior Street
- Regina Crescent
- Poplar Street
- Birch Street

Algoma Public Health and the Municipality of Wawa have issued a boil water advisory for any activity where municipally supplied water may be ingested. This includes:


• Drinking
• Brushing teeth
• Washing fruits and vegetables
• Drinking water from public drinking fountains in this area.

Residents must take the following precautions during this boil water advisory:


• Boil water used for drinking purposes, for at least 1 minute at a rolling boil, prior to use;
• Boil water for activities where it may be ingested;
• Do not drink from any public drinking fountains in the affected area;
• People may use the water for washing and bathing;
• Ensure that younger children and infants are sponge bathed.

This Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until further notice and microbiological samples confirm the safety of the water. This affects all households and properties connected to the Wawa Water Supply system in the affected area and further information will be shared when available.

THIS ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL RESCINDED.
