Wawa Intergenerational Legacy Project Coordinator 

 Part-Time, 6-Month Contract Position

The Wawa Intergenerational Legacy Project Coordinator will develop and facilitate the coordination of Wawa’s Intergenerational Legacy Program in partnership with the Wawa Seniors Goose Club. The WILP Coordinator should aim to enhance the well-being, social connections, empowerment and community participation of local seniors by designing and delivering a thriving community program. The position is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the community and contribute to the wellbeing of Wawa’s local seniors while connecting them with local youth. The Municipality seeks someone who can create a fun and uplifting atmosphere and has a keen interest in working with senior volunteers and youth. 

Primary Job Responsibilities Includes:

·       Collaborate with senior volunteers throughout all stages of the program.

·       Develop the WILP which consists of nine sessions showcasing a collaborative legacy writing project for seniors that promotes digital literacy, social inclusion and opportunities to connect with local youth.

·       Conduct community-based outreach and engagement, including the creation of outreach materials that are Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliant.

·       Facilitate the activities in a professional and respectful manner.

·       Administration and evaluation of the program once the sessions are complete.

·       Create a fun, uplifting atmosphere and use innovative ways to encourage participation.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications Includes:

·       Previous experience working with diverse senior populations, volunteers and youth.

·       Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

·       Proficient computer skills.

·       Strong ability to motivate and inspire others while providing an outgoing, creative and fun environment.

·       Knowledge of current available programming and community resources an asset. Minimum one-year related experience in recreation, project coordination considered an asset.

Compensation Includes:

·       Rate of pay is $25.75 per hour.

·       Flexible schedule of up to 16 hours per week.
