Wawa Celebrates Small Business Week: Honouring the Backbone of Our Community
Wawa, ON | The Municipality of Wawa is proud to join communities across Canada in celebrating Small Business Week, taking place from October 20 to 26, 2025. This week is a time to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of small businesses to our local economy, community development, and quality of life.
Small businesses are the heart of Wawa’s economy - from family-run shops and restaurants to local artisans and essential service providers. They create jobs, provide unique services, and shape the character of our town.
“Small Business Week is a meaningful opportunity to thank the entrepreneurs, risk-takers, and hardworking residents who make Wawa thrive,” said Mayor Melanie Pilon. “Their resilience, creativity, and dedication are vital to our community’s growth and well-being.”
Wawa’s Economic Development Officer, Maggie Culhane, is committed to celebrating and supporting both new and established businesses in our community. Connect with Maggie for guidance on accessing funding opportunities, business resources, and support services, as well as building valuable networks for success. Business owners along Broadway Avenue are especially encouraged to reach out to learn more about financial incentives available through the Community Improvement Plan—designed to support storefront and office space upgrades.
Mayor and Council celebrate the people behind our local, small businesses and ask everyone to show their support for their impact on our daily lives and future prosperity.
