Public Notice – Proposed New Garbage & Waste Collection By-Law

The Municipality of Wawa is proposing a new Waste Collection By-law and is seeking input from residents and businesses. The current by-law dates back to 1969 and no longer reflects modern waste practices, service levels, or costs. The proposed updates aim to improve fairness, clarity, and cost recovery while supporting responsible waste management.

Key Proposed Changes:

• Updated rules for garbage set-out, containers, and collection

• Clear limits for residential and commercial waste

• Introduction of updated fees for additional commercial garbage pick-ups

• New requirements for commercial bins and waste storage

• Updated enforcement and prohibited waste provisions

• New policy for landfill use by non-residents and contractors
