Accounts Payable Associate
Permanent Full Time

The Municipality of Wawa is looking for a motivated individual to join the finance team at the Municipal Office.  The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the accounts payable and purchase order systems along with general accounting duties which includes serving the public at the front desk.  The ideal candidate must have strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications:

·       College certificate or diploma in accounting or business with an accounting component or relevant         working experience with education and a thorough understanding of GAAP.

·       Experience with accounting software.

·       Proficiency and experience with Excel, Word and Access are essential.

·       Understanding and working knowledge of municipal government and applicable Federal and Provincial tax laws, in particular the HST requirements.

·       Working knowledge and experience with purchase order systems.

Regular Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours per week)

Hourly wage: $34.42
