Refuse collection from the Town of Wawa and the Michipicoten River Village is currently being performed by Miller Sanitation Inc, (705) 856-7329.

A tin can recycling depot is located at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre parking lot (3 Chris Simon Drive).

The Municipality of Wawa Landfill Site is located on High Falls Road, 2.6 kilometers east of Highway 17 and is operated by J. Provost Contracting (705) 856-4513. The hours of operation at the Landfill Site are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

Arrangements are made twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall, to waive tipping fees at the Landfill Site for homeowners. Commercial, industrial entities and construction materials (ie. shingles) will not be eligible for waived fees.
