Marathon-Nipigon 265 km/146 miles |
You’re riding Lake Superior ’s mountainous coastline here. Be prepared for a spectacular, but challenging ride. The trail is all up and down, with plenty of curves to navigate. The trail is narrow in many places. Plan a day to do this leg. There are some spectacular lookouts over Lake Superior that you will want to take photos. The communities of Terrace Bay , Schreiber, Rossport and Nipigon are all snowmobile friendly and are accessible to snowmobiles for gas, food and lodging. |

Nipigon-Geraldton 245km/153 mi. & Geraldton-Longlac 43km/28 m |
From the junction of trails A and D into Nipigon is a very pretty ride. It’s definitely worth the trip to repeat this trail on your way back to trail A. The trail remains quite mountainous out of Nipigon, towards Beardmore. You’ll hit the powerline, with some great scenery and more hills. The trail flattens out towards Beardmore and on to Longlac and Geraldton, where you will follow the Trans Canada pipeline, a great area for some off trail powder riding. Beardmore, Longlac and Geraldton offer great services to snowmobilers. Remember….never pass a gas pump without putting gas in your sled! |

Longlac-Manitouwadge 185km/116 mi. |
Since this is a short run, you may want to take advantage of the many local loops in the Longlac area, or take a day trip up to Nakina, our northern most community. The trail from Longlac to Manitouwadge also presents some great off-trail riding opportunities on the pipeline and powerline. The trail is a mix of logging cuts, power line and pipeline riding. |
