The General Contractor for this project is Aecon Construction & Materials Ltd. from Etobicoke, Ontario. Hatch Corporation from Thunder Bay, Ontario, is undertaking the Contract Administration.

The Municipality of Wawa and traveling public is advised that during the construction period, slower driving speeds and occasional delays will be necessary for the safety of construction and inspection staff performing the roadwork.

Summer 2017 construction activities shall be scheduled with every effort to minimize impact on businesses on Hwy. 17 and Hwy. 101, especially during events such as Canada 150 / Wawa Goose Ceremony and the Wawa Drag Races. No work is anticipated to take place on long weekends, and construction activities are being prioritized to provide the least impact to the Municipality of Wawa and the travelling public during these busy events dates.
